Sacred Heart Primary School
The school is a former Victorian boys college which has been reappropriated as a primary school and subsequently increased to 2 form entry with a new building on a split site. Much of the original building remains as built and was not previously altered to accommodate the increased capacity or changing school requirements. As part of ZRP’s work a number of small capital projects have been undertaken through successful funding bid applications which ZRP have assisted with to overcome some of these issues.
These projects have included reordering the existing main entrance to provide a secure, fully accessible and welcoming reception suite with adequate waiting space, improved office accommodation and new WCs, separate remodelling of circulation and pupil WC spaces to improve school movement patterns and generally enhance these areas and reorganisation and remodelling of staff welfare and preparation spaces and school resource facilities. Further projects are being developed to provide a new governor’s suite, with meeting rooms and conference facilities, as well as remodelling and refurbishments to the existing school kitchen accommodation and dining hall.
